Shadows Chasing Ghosts have announced guitarist Jack Mackrill is leaving the band.
The band and Mackrill made the following separate statements.
From Shadows Chasing Ghosts:
“We’re sad to have to inform you all that Mackie will no longer be playing a part in the Shadows family. This is his own decision; and while we’re sad to see him go, we remain friends and we wish him all the best in his future pursuits.
As all of you who came out to see us on the Yashin tour will know, Shadows lives on, we’re still as committed to what we do as we ever have been and will continue to make and play the music we love and share it with all of you.
Message from Jack Mackrill:
It’s with a very heavy heart that I announce my departure from Shadows Chasing Ghosts. I’ve had some of the most amazing and hilarious times with these boys and I want to say the biggest thank you in the world to Coy, G, Trey, Matt, Holly, Andy, Ian and everyone at Small Town Records for making me feel so welcome in the SCG family.
However all good things have to end sometime, and for me sadly that time is now. I won’t delve too deep into it all because for one, being in a band means I’m too broke to afford the violin soundtrack to play while I spill my heart out, and two, the most important thing for me is the fact that It’s been left on friendly and understanding terms.
The biggest thank you though must go to all the amazing people I’ve met on the road with SCG. Every single show you all partied, sang along and had a great time, which is what going to a live show should be about!
Right now I genuinely have no idea what the future holds, all I know is I’m excited to see what opening a new chapter in my life will bring me.
I want to wish the guys the best of luck for the future, because seriously they are one of the hardest working bands out there, and any piece of success that comes their way will be well and truly deserved and earned.
I guess all that’s left to say is Thanks again and hopefully I’ll see you all soon. Mackie x”
