With just weeks until they headline the Download Festival, Muse have posted the third single from their upcoming ‘Drones’ record which is released on June 9th.The track is titled ‘Mercy’ and sees the Devon trio combine hard rock guitars, and spiralling electonics with a soaring chorus. Lead singer Matt Bellamy shared this comment about the track:
“The opening line of "Mercy” – “help me I’ve fallen on the inside” – is a reference to the protagonist knowing and recognizing that they have lost something, they have lost themselves. This is where he realizes that he is being overcome by the dark forces that were introduced to him in “Psycho”.“
Muse will headline Download Festival on Saturday June 13th.
