Having recently been announced to co-headline the Reading Festival and Leeds Festival, Biffy Clyro and Fall Out Boy will be playing a show at Glasgow’s Bellahouston Park on Saturday August 27th. The show is part of Glasgow Summer Sessions with more names yet to be announced.

Opeth have announced a one-off show at the SSE Wembley Arena in London for Saturday November 19th.

Vinnie Caruana (The Movielife, I Am The Avalanche) has revealed that he’ll be playing a handful of club shows in the UK this May with support from Murray MacLeod (The Xcerts).

The Defiled have announced they are splitting up.

Every Time I Die have entered the studio in their hometown of Buffalo, NY to record a new album with Will Putney.

As part of Holy Roar Records’ 10th anniversary celebrations, Rolo Tomassi will release ‘The BBC Sessions’ on 10”/CD/DD on May 27th. The release has been in the works for over three years and is presented in reverse-chronological order, documenting the bands evolution from a session in 2008 with Huw Stephens to a session on Radio 1 Rock Show with Daniel P. Carter in 2013.

Birmingham based record label All In Vinyl announced the return of their split 7" series which brings together punk bands from across the globe. So far eight of the 12 bands for ‘Split Series Vol. 4’ have been confirmed:

Does It Float (Tokyo, Japan), Stay Clean Jolene (Manchester, UK), Future Virgins (Chatanooga, US), Good Grief (Liverpool, UK), Dead Bars (Seattle, US), The Kimberly Steaks (Glasgow, US), The Creeps (Ottawa, Canada) and The No Marks (Liverpool, UK). With four more bands set to be revealed in the summer.

Blackpool based three piece, Strange Bones have revealed their debut EP, ‘God Save The Teen’ will be released through Kobalt Music on April 21st. It was produced by Foo Fighters guitarist Chris Shiflett and recorded at Studio 606, the Foo Fighters headquarters in Los Angeles on the legendary Sound City recording desk.

Petrol Girls have revealed they are currently at S.T.R.E.S.S. Studio in Graz, Austria recording their debut album with producer Tom Zwanzger.

“Easycore” group Abandoned By Bears have joined Victory Records. Their new album, ‘The Years Ahead,’ will be released on April 29th.

Festival News

New Years Day, Creeper, Blood Youth, Boston Manor, Cane Hill, Beautiful Bodies, Dead!, Waterparks, and With Confidence have been confirmed to play the “Fresh Blood” stage at the Slam Dunk Festival.

The next round of additions for the 2000 Trees Festival have been confirmed. The announcement sees Neck Deep, The King Blues, The Bronx, Basement, Lonely The Brave, We Were Promised Jetpacks, Crooks, Dead!, John Coffey, HECK, Terrible Love, Press To MECO, Black Honey, The Ghost Riders In The Sky and Happy Accidents joining the likes of Twin Atlantic, Refused and more.

Creeper, Milk Teeth, Neck Deep, Lonely The Brave, Nai Harvest, Dead!, HECK, Dinosaur Plie Up, Queen Kwong, and Beans on Toast are amongst the latest names to be announced for the Y Not Festival in July.The Derbyshire based festival will be headlined by Editors, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds and Madness.

Bristol based Deadpunk Special have made their final announcement. Some of the final names announced are Gnarwolves, Vinnie Caruana, Colour Me Wednesday, Muncie Girls, and Murray Macleod (The Xcerts). Deadpunk Special will take place across multiple stages on the 6th and 7th May 2016.
