It is with a heavy heart to announce that on Friday, August 30th 2019, Already Heard will be going on a hiatus for the foreseeable future.
Over the past seven years, we’ve taken great pride in developing the site from the ground up, consistently sticking to a DIY ethos. Nevertheless, in recent months the demands of the sites, along with the lack of resources needed to maintain Already Heard at the level it is now at, has become unsustainable.
On a personal level, overseeing Already Heard has taken its toll on my well-being. I began the site as a platform to highlight alternative music, push emerging bands and to allow budding writers and photographers the opportunity to build their skills and portfolio. While I feel we have achieved this for the best part of seven years, in recent months the passion for what I once considered a “passion project” has waned.
The decision to put Already Heard on hold, for the time being, hasn’t been an easy decision. Nevertheless, the current team of contributors and myself feel it is in the best interest of all those involved that some time away would be beneficial.
Over the remaining weeks, we will continue to regularly produce content and maintain the standards we have set ourselves over the past seven years.
We would like to thank every single reader, follower, band, label, publicist and anyone else who has supported or helped Already Heard what it has become.
