After leaving Victory Records in 2010, The Audition seem to disappear for awhile. But now in 2012 the Chicago group are back and are ready to start afresh.

With their new EP, ‘Chapter II’ which sees the band picking up where they left off with their brand of bold, melodic rock with plenty of longevity and ultimately shows plenty of promise for the future.

Later this week the band return to the UK to play a series of shows as well as the Slam Dunk Festival. Ahead of the bands trip overseas frontman Danny Stevens spoke to Already Heard to take part in our regular “If I…” feature.

Danny told us about what his ideal festival line-up would be, which tour he could re-live, which defunct band he would like to reform and more.

If I could re-record one song it would be…
Danny: “Hell To Sell” from our album, Champion. I was sick as a dog when we recorded it and would like to have that one back.

If I could re-live one tour/show it would be…
Danny: The Jack’s Mannequin tour we did in 2008.

If I had the chance to play one venue it would be…
Danny: Brixton Academy

If I could play with one band it would be…
Danny: Foo Fighters.

If I could play with any person living or dead it would be…
Danny: Jason Mraz

If I could bring back any band that have split up, it would be…
Danny: Northstar

If I wasn’t playing music, I would be…
Danny: Perusing a career in pro Ice hockey.

If I could play a different genre it would be…
Danny: Country music.

If I could have written any song it would be…
Danny: “Oh My Sweet Carolina” by Ryan Adams.

If I could have written any album it would be…
Danny: “The Wreckage” by Will Hoge.

If I could headline any festival, it would be…
Danny: Reading and Leeds.

If I could organise my own festival, the bands playing would be…
Danny: The Foo Fighters, The Avett Brothers, and Train.

If I could play any other instrument, it would be…
Danny: Piano.

If I could give one piece of advice to a new band, it would be:
Danny: Work hard and make as many friends as possible.
