In recent months rising Birmingham metallers Cytota have had an eventful time. Having revealed their new vocalist Griffin Dickinson and supporting Crossfaith late last year, the five piece are embarking on a new chapter as a band and have decided to change their name to SHVPES.

Griffin Dickinson explains:

|The short time I toured with Cytota was great, but with our new dynamic, it became clear to us all that the name had reached the end of its chapter. SHVPES represents the start of a new era for this band and I’m immensely excited to be a part of it.“

Whilst drummer Harry Jennings added:

"Cytota has been my life for the past 5 years. We didn’t take this decision lightly and it feels like the natural thing to do, we have progressed so much in the last few months with the addition of Griffin, that it needed a new name for the new energy and vibe we had. It’s really exciting.”

SHVPES will mark their new start with shows supporting 36 Crazyfists and Fightstar next month.
