Album Review: Evarose – Elements EP

When people talk about female fronted bands they are always compared to a very popular US band who everyone will have heard of. But Evarose are different, a complete girl band lineup, the Oxford quartet are definitely something special and are a refreshing change to all the heavy UK bands out at the minute.

Starting with ‘Best Left Alone’, the song has powerful guitar tones running through the song, with Dannika Webbers sweet catchy vocals the song is a great start to the EP.

The rest of the EP is just as impressive with ‘Educate Yourself’ and ‘There’s No Such Thing As Something for Nothing’ are both powerful songs that pack a punch. As Dannika hits the high notes with ease and the guitars come through their both catchy and power the songs through to a great end.

‘Change’ is a song you can easily listen to over and over again, what sets the song apart from the rest is the cleverly placed backing vocals that give it another edge. A simple yet heavy and catchy guitar tone mixed with the harmonic vocals it’s a definite standout song.

Finishing the EP, ‘Time Well Spent’ starts off slow and then it kicks in with the pounding drum and bass lines coupled with yet more thick guitar tones. Again the harmonic backing vocals give the song that epic feel and finish the EP off on a perfect note.

With ‘Elements’ hitting the number 3 spot on the iTunes rock chart and supporting Straight Lines on their UK tour in September and October the band look to have a promising future ahead of them and quite rightly so.

4.5/5
